We would like to introduce a new service available to all patients across East Lancashire – the Community Phlebotomy Service. This new service has been commissioned by East Lancs CCG and will run for an initial 12-month pilot.
The service has been introduced as an additional option for patients that might prefer an appointment outside of normal hours, and is not a replacement for any existing services already offered by Reedyford Health Care. It is a clinic for routine blood-taking and is available to all patients aged 16 and over.
The Community Phlebotomy service will be staffed by experienced Health Care Assistants and Phlebotomists, so you can be sure that you will be looked after and treated as well as you would at your own surgery.
The Community Phlebotomy clinics will be hosted by different practices across East Lancashire, offering flexibility for patients and additional capacity for practices. Clinics will run outside of normal hours between 6pm and 8pm through the week, and patients can book into any of the sessions available.
When booking a blood test using the Community Phlebotomy Service, you will be given your blood form and must bring this with you to the appointment. To book an appointment using the service, please ring or call into Reedyford Health Care as normal. Appointments are available to book into the following surgeries:
We hope that you embrace this new initiative, and please use the Community Phlebotomy Service to your advantage!
