Meet Our GPs
DR Rimon Chowdhury
Rimon was born and brought up in Yorkshire and trained in London. He joined the practice as a registrar in 2004 though he originally began training in general medicine. His main clinical areas of interest are minor surgery and respiratory medicine. He is a GP trainer and, with his wife, has run courses in clinical skills assessment for the MRCGP. Away from medicine he is cricket mad and is still unsure whether to change his Roses allegiance.

DR Fran Ashworth
Dr Ashworth is from Burnley and was previously a partner in a practice in Littleborough after completing training firstly in Liverpool and then in Trawden.
MBCHB (LIVERPOOL), MBCHB AND POST GRAD DIP GEN PRAC
He is a family man who enjoys playing the organ/piano and is musical director of an amateur big band. He is a regular attender at Crow Wood Leisure Centre and is also an enthusiastic golfer.
His main clinical interests are coronary heart disease, minor surgery, dermatology and palliative care. He also performs practice development review and IM&T visits for the PCT and is a GP trainer.
DR Stuart Berry
Prior to joining the Practice, Stuart was a GP in Bradford. His particular clinical interests include respiratory and mental health and he oversees the drug misuse clinics at the Practice.

Outside work he enjoys cross country running and learning to play the piano. He is a lapsed juggler and armature balloon modeller.
DR Nabilah Chowdhury
Nabilah joined the practice in August 2008 and is the wife of Rimon. Her main clinical areas of interest are child health, family planning and sexual health. She did her medical degree in Prague so that, as well as Urdu, she can speak Czech. This has proved very useful in looking after some of our Eastern European patients. She has recently trained to give Botox injections.

DR Irfan Chadhury
Irfan was born in Burnley, and originally lived in Nelson for 18 years. He attended the local schools and colleges before completing his Medical Undergraduate training in Birmingham. Before general practice, Irfan undertook initial training in orthopaedic surgery.
MBCHB, MRCGP
His clinical interests include Musculoskeletal Medicine and Minor Surgery.
Away from medicine, Irfan places significant emphasis on family life, enjoys attending the gym and keeping fit. He is also a huge football fan, enjoys playing on occasions and following his beloved Manchester United.
